Insider Guide: Best Things to do in Marrakesh

Insider Guide: Best Things to do in Marrakesh

While the temperature in Europe is starting to drop, it doesn’t mean that summer has to be over. In fact, it’s the perfect time to explore Marrakesh. While it may be best known for the big name attractions, like the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and La Mammuonia, we’re going to share some of our insider tips for this ancient city:

Selman Arabians: You’ve probably heard of the luxurious hotels of Marrakesh, like Royal Mansour, but The Selman, located on the outskirts of the city has something unique. In addition to beautiful architecture and grounds, you can wander the stables (designed by Jacques Garcia) and see the beautiful arabian thoroughbreds.

Rooftop at El Fenn: possibly the most stunning rooftop in Marrakesh, where you can sit back on your lounge bed, enjoy a cocktail and watch the sunsetting over Koutoubia Mosque. It can be difficult to get a spot here if you’re not a guest, so try to reserve in advance and don’t forget your AWKN!

Beldi Country Club: someonewhat of a refreshing reset from the rest of Marrakesh, Beldi Country Club delivers an aesthetic that is rustic and chic, all at once. As well as staying at the hotel, you can also stop by and visit the Souk for a relaxed shopping experience which features brands like Chabi Chic.

Jardin du Lotus: if you think you’ve had too much tajine, stop by Jardin du Lotus which delivers both looks and substance. Here you can enjoy a Mexican inspired menu in a setting that is instagrammable (but in an understated, “Moroccan minimalist” way)

Om Yoga: if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of the medina, escape to Om Yoga. They have a really wide variety of classes from vinyasa to aerial yoga and some of the best instructors.

Dar Bacha Coffee House: While clearly one for coffee lovers (you can choose from hundreds of beans, from Yemen to Brazil), the Coffee House is set inside a stunning museum. Go early and plan to spend a couple of hours enjoying coffee, breakfast and wandering through the building.
