The Christmas lights are up on Oxford Street and Christmas party season is in full swing. But while there’s a lot of merriment, there are also many obstacles to navigate - from mistletoe to small talk. Here are some of our tips to survive the season and arrive at the office like nothing happened…

What to wear?

The age old question. We’re seeing a lot of exciting looks this season, including feathers, sequins and colourful prints. While we don’t mind being bold, we also want to be smart. Hangovers?

If you’re reading this, you probably know that taking AWKN is the best way to prevent a hangover and drink healthier. We also recommend drinking lighter alcohols, like gin and vodka, which contain few quantities of congeners - known substances to increase the severity of your hangover. As always, we recommend staying hydrated and drinking water while you drink.

Overeating?

You simply cannot avoid the thick cut fries and deep fried arancini balls, which are seemingly staples on every London canape menu. Like our approach to drinking, we try to bring a balanced approach to the canape tray. Try to eat a healthy meal before attending the event, so you dont binge on the uninspired carbs.



Getting home?

It’s 2am and you can’t get an Uber. We recommend installing all the apps - Uber, Bolt and Ola to have your bases covered. If that fails, there’s always the staples like a black cab and the night tube / bus, if you’re feeling up to it and it's safe. If you have a friend that lives nearby, we also recommend letting them know that you’ll be in the area, so you can crash on their couch if safe transportation can’t be found.
