Strictly Limited to 30 Pieces Worldwide

For the very first drop of our limited-edition series, we are taking it back to our roots. Everything AWKN creates is driven by nature and Hanbang (traditional Korean herbal ingredients). To express this organic connection, we chose the quiet wisdom of the Night Owl as our motif and brought it to life through a forgotten piece of Korean heritage: Hyukpil.

The Art of Hyukpil

Long before modern graphic design, the streets of the Joseon Dynasty were painted with Hyukpil. Known as Korea’s original street art, it defied the strict rules of classic calligraphy. Wandering artists used a flat piece of thick leather, dipped in vibrant, multicolored inks, to create breathtaking, rainbow-gradient strokes in a single sweeping motion. Interwoven with motifs of flora and fauna, each painting was traditionally created as a talisman to bring good fortune. By reviving this art form, we are transforming a centuries-old wish for prosperity into modern streetwear.

Collaboration with local artist

To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with Korean artist Amber Glsssi (@gls.ssi). Now based in the UK, Amber naturally bridges the gap between East and West, traditional heritage and contemporary aesthetics. Her artwork precisely reflects the spirit and brand world of AWKN—capturing the timeless beauty of Korean culture while reinterpreting it for a global, modern audience. Through her unique lens, the ancient stroke work of Hyukpil is transformed into a sophisticated piece of wearable art.

A Canvas that Respects the Earth

A design this deeply rooted in nature deserves a canvas that honors the planet. We intentionally chose an Earth Positive tee as the foundation for this artwork. Ethically crafted in India, this garment is spun from pure organic cotton and produced with a strictly climate-neutral footprint. We wanted this inaugural release to be as meaningful in its physical creation as it is in its design, which is why we have capped production at exactly 30 exclusive pieces.
